University of Toronto - Joint Center of Bioethics
The University of Toronto Joint Centre for Bioethics (JCB) is a partnership between the University of Toronto and affiliated hospitals. The JCB studies important ethical, health-related topics through research and clinical activities. The JCB is a network of over 160 multidisciplinary professionals seeking to improve health care standards at both national and international levels.

University of Pittsburgh - Center for Medical Ethics
Founded in 1987 as the Center for Medical Ethics, and given an expanded mission and renamed in 1998, the University of Pittsburgh Center for Bioethics and Health Law in Pittsburgh, PA, is committed to bringing together scholars and researchers from a variety of disciplines to cooperate in addressing issues in bioethics and law from both theoretical and clinical perspectives. The Center is founded on the premise that the questions posed by contemporary healthcare dilemmas are not the province of any single discipline but require the collaborative integration of insights garnered from history, law, medicine, philosophy, and the social sciences. The Center is not a policy-making or advisory body. Rather, it is committed to in-depth analysis of the complex legal and ethical issues surrounding the health care process.

University of Bergen - Department of Philosophy
International Research Ethics (ETHICA)

ETHICA was established to examine ethical issues in international health research. It focuses on three areas: human rights, equity and health sector reform; ethical issues in collaborative research in developing countries; and cross-cultural bioethics. Their website contains useful resources and links to other relevant sites, as well as details of the CTC-Ethics programme which aims to examine ethical issues in clinical trial collaborations with developing countries, by producing a teaching manual that can be used both as a teaching and reference tool.


UNESCO Bioethics Programme
The UNESCO Bioethics Programme was created in 1993 and has been a principal priority of UNESCO since 2002. Its first major success was in 1997, when the General Conference adopted the Universal Declaration on the Human Genome and Human Rights, the only international instrument in the field of bioethics, which was endorsed by the United Nations General Assembly in 1998. The Bioethics Programme is part of UNESCO’s Division of the Ethics of Science and Technology in the Social and Human Sciences Sector.

University at Buffalo-
Center for Clinical Ethics and Humanities in Health Care

The Center for Clinical Ethics and Humanities in Health Care is an interdisciplinary academi ccenter of the University at Buffalo. The Center draws upon a wide range of individuals from the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences as well as various health care and academic institutions in the Buffalo N.Y. area.

University of Miami - Ethics Programme
The University of Miami's Bioethics Program is a university-wide entity dedicated to education, research and community service in bioethics and related disciplines. Established in 1991, the Program was the founding component of UM's multi- and interdisciplinary Ethics Programs .

W. Maurice Young Centre for Applied Ethics

The website of the W. Maurice Young Centre for Applied Ethics created in 1993, the CAE is an independent unit in the Faculty of Graduate Studies of the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, B.C. The CAE train ethicists grounded in the theories and methods of ethics and political economy, a robust knowledge of the subject matter (e.g., medicine, commerce, environmental science), as well as expertise in social science research methodologies.
